I know lots of Scottish-Americans and Swedish-Americans and Czech-Americans who are proud of their heritage. (Especially the Scots. They are insane.) Why shouldn’t having Kenyan heritage be something to be proud of?

It is…my friend’s niece, who is with the Peace Corps in Mali, is Kenyan on her mom’s side, and damn proud of it.

But when it’s applied to Obama by these charmers, it’s decidedly meant as a suggestion that he’s not a real American because his father was African.

Also, as you say, “Allende” is clearly meant to be threatening.
