A long time ago, I had a bumper sticker on my car that said “Hate is not a family value”. I was walking away from my car when some woman started yelling at me about the sticker and asking “Is that a gaaayy thing? I answered back that it was a bigot thing and she started droning about “Love the sinner, hate the sin!” when it was obvious that she didn’t know anything about my ‘sin’ and just wanted to hate on me for being gay. She didn’t want to talk, just throw judgement at me so I just told her she was wrong and walked away. Whenever someone says “Love the sinner, hate the sin”, it’s 1000% guaranteed that they thoroughly hate the person that they think is a sinner.

I always thought it was judgmental bullshit. Kind of like all those anti gay business owners who want to be able to deny gay people service because being gay is a sin while being okay with other sins. Like you never hear about anti-gay bakers or florists refusing to serve divorcees. Hmmm. It’s almost like their interpretation of sin is subjective bullshit.
