A born again Christian believer should be able handle any criticism of their faith, they should see it as an opportunity to defend their faith with the Truth. Getting angry is not a good testimony. And you are right, religion, being a form a Christianity in name only, will indeed destroy the conservative party but, and sadly moreso, is another example of Christ, and His message, being dragged through the mud.
