Because it’s about the control over them.

They’re convinced they can make the consequences go away by convincing the woman to withdraw charges/restraining orders/whatever. They’re more powerful than the courts, then, they can get away with it.

In all the training we were given at the center, the police detective was the only one that asked that question. It’s the Cycle of Violence. Focusing or blaming the women is the wrong way to go.

Law Enforcement that is engaged in this issue is very good and has a myriad of tools they can use. I was impressed by our police department.
