Also, “failure to provide the necessities of life” does not extend to one’s own body. If someone has a dependent adult in their care, they’re obligated by law to ensure that person has food, water, etc., but they can’t be forced by law to donate blood, a kidney, or any other part of their body, even if it’s necessary to save that person’s life.
