I’m not sure if Matt is being facetious here or not…but my opinion of the conservative electorate is low enough that I’m pretty damn sure he’s right. Whether by accident or not.

Running on racism, as we’ve seen, seems to have precious little drawbacks and only the highest of benefits lately.

I think he’s being tongue in cheek. But yes.
