Realized the other day, I have not taken a vacation in 8 years. Probably have taken 10 days off in that time (including sick days), but, never more than one off in a row.

It’s labo(u)r law here in the EU: a minimum of 20 paid vacation days a year, plus 10-20 paid holidays per year, depending on the country or region and the year (they generally don’t move holidays that fall on weekends).

But I am a self-employed person these days, so any days I take off are at my own expense.
