Last Thanksgiving, instead of the usual two pumpkin pies, I made one pie and 11 tarts (in a popover pan). The tarts lasted WAYYYY longer than a second pie would have, and that’s without freezing and thawing. I think there’s just something about a circle with a piece out of it that cries out for completion (eating the rest).

and once the pie starts getting below the 50% point, then when you take a piece you start thinking that ‘geeze, there isn’t much left, maybe I ought to finish it off’.
