you’ll learn in this country that management are the self-appointed nobility of modern feudalism

they may work very hard, be responsible for important decisions that cause very good - and sometimes very bad - things to happen, and be liable to get fired quickly and brutally by those that are above them or boards they are responsible to - i don’t begrudge them their hard work, difficult decisions, or success

but they have it arranged amongst themselves that no matter how badly they screw up, they will walk away rich
