There is an Israeli writer who wants to be officially listed as “Not Jewish.”

OK, I think he should get what he wants. Maybe he can even get a de-circumcision or whatever kind of operation where they sew the foreskin back on.

Why does it offend you so much that this man wants to leave your religion? I’m assuming this part:

An earlier request to the Interior Ministry was turned down and Kaniuk explains in his petition that he does not wish to be part of a “Jewish Iran” or belong to “what is today called the religion of Israel.”

So do you dislike him because he wants to leave or because of his attitude towards it?
