The solutions I mentioned were all for profit. But if patients have control over their own medical dollars, won’t more provider compete for those dollars? I think they will.

I need to look into these “family practice” walk-in clinics, I need a good PCP who takes my insurance anyway.

“Control over dollars” is very, very weak in health care, whether at the individual level or at the billion-dollar bureaucrat level. There’s the basic rule of quality control - you build it in, you don’t test it in after the fact. Cost control is another a posteriori approach.
