No law permits that, as such, but Texas statutes take a slightly more expansive view of when one can or cannot use deadly force. As for his missed rounds, my best guess is they ended up in his driveway.

Okay. So yes, he did fire his weapon in an illegal manner. And you don’t really know where the bullets wound up. Great. Maybe one of them went through a congressman’s window.
