Because the Maine Governor, Paul LePage, who wants her quarantined is a Republican, and because of the science vs. unfounded fears aspect of the story, Kaci Hickox is an object of right wing hate for exposing Honest American Citizens to the scary black people from third world country disease. She might also just might be a dangerous socialist for volunteering her time as a nurse to help those in other countries without expecting to be paid.
