I don’t get the hating on equestrian sports.

It’s an intrinsically elitist activity, far worse than sailing which is it’s closest Olympic competitor for cost of entry. Maybe it didn’t used to be, like a century ago, but modern land, feed, transport, training, veterinarian and insurance costs put it way outside the average middle class lifestyle.
