in a ‘perfect’ world mr zimmerman would have either stayed in his car or approached t.martin in a non threatening manner i.e. ‘can i help you find an address? etc. in this same world mr martin (who was 11 years younger) might have tried politeness i.e no, sir i live in that house over there. just returning from the store etc’. you know that ‘elder thing’ my pop’s told me about.
but…… zimmerman bit off more than he could chew, and t.martin brought that to mr z’s full attention. i can’t find any justification for an unarmed minor’s death by gunshot. it’s a tragedy for the martin’s and yes, a tragedy for the z family. if people weren’t so convinced of their own invincibility /right to do what ever they want perhaps we would pause and try a bit of civility every now an then.
there are laws, and there are morals and so often in human interactions they have little or nothing to do with each other.
