re: #428 Gang of One

I don’t disagree with you on your point about science, enlightenment and the understanding of natural phenomena. Bryan, I say ‘experiential knowledge’ as that mechanism that allows me to know that my faith and assurance of a living, personal God is a reality. The limited information of past eras did dictate those mistaken notions of things like flat Earth, etc. I have experienced personal events that have led me to believe.

I like the story told by Hitchens of the lead scientist—and religious man—who spearheaded the governments efforts at cataloging the human genome. The scientist wrote that he saw a waterfall with three streams frozen into ice in space. The scientist then wrote in his book that he claimed that was the moment he found god.

Hitchens retort was somthing to the effect of, ” Well if it had been two and not a trinity, then what. You would have had some other faith?”

Coincidences happen in one’s life. Coincidences do not prove there is a god.
