JMO but I do not think pops, scratches, hisses and other artifacts of vinyl playback enhance the listening experience. I own digital remasterings of many symphony orchestras and vastly prefer the cleaned-up versions.

i agree and also have remastered copies of many of my important favorites - ie probably more than 6 different recordings/masterings/formats of “Allman Brothers At Fillmore East”

some of it is nostalgia
some is that when i heard things originally, those sounds were a seamless part of the thing- whether a spoken comedy album or music or whatever. especially skips - the elided words didnt exist and werent missed until years later when i found out what wasnt there.

clarified some things, and in others, took away the mystery
