As always, both of these strategies are dependent on investment time horizons.

Shorting, in my view, is always speculative, which itself is inherently short term. It’s little more than a roll of the dice in hopes of making a quick score, not a reasoned, long-term decision.

As long as anyone shorting keeps that in mind, and doesn’t mind losing the money they put up, all should be well.
