I’m as much of a Firefly fan as the next Whedon nerd, but Adam Baldwin is an idiot.

I can’t watch Firefly anymore because it’s been ‘adopted’ by anarchists, I mean libertarians.

Here’s how I deconstruct it.

You don’t know me, son - Fine. We have established that the person in the picture is a stranger to the person being spoken to. Which is us on this side of the fourth wall.

So let me explain this to you once. Um, okay. We just met and you have to explain something. I’m already uncomfortable with your presence.

If I ever kill you, - Wait! What? We live in a place where interpersonal relationships are such that one of us having to die is of a high enough probability that you have to warn me as the first order of business? Really uncomfortable now.

You’ll be awake, you’ll be facing me, and you’ll be armed. - Now this is just silly. If relationships between myself and another person have deteriorated to the point where one of us has to die I’m not going to do something as stupid as a quick draw contest face to face.

I will cut their throats in their sleep. I will poison them. I will sneak up behind them and stab them in the back. I will booby trap their car. I will put a rifle bullet in their heads from several hundred yards away.

If it comes down to one of us surviving it’s going to be me, and I am not going to play fair.

I can see why the anarchists, I mean libertarians love Firefly so much thanks to this meme. But damn, it’s just a TV show and not meant to feed the anarchists Rambo fantasies.
