And the amount of contact you’re talking about is miniscule in the context of 40 year careers. It’s just not enough to make a blanket statement that someone is inherently good or bad. Indeed, terms like good and bad are horrible oversimplifications for people like politicians who work in a world filled with so many contradictions and so much secrecy. Certainly many of our presidents were far too complex to simplistically label good or bad. Same with a US Senator.
Of course its an oversimplification. But it’s a good shorthand for a person. I only have time to truly understand a few politicos and Barbara Boxer is not one of them. She’s a political enemy and a strident one, so my focus on gathering information about her is on that info that can be used against her.
