It’s inaccurate to say this is about “anyone who worked for the US government.” The website itself says “political appointees.” That’s a fraction of the US government’s staff. The political appointees made a personal choice to enable and empower Trump’s agenda.

and it is not about “blackballing” them, it is a matter of looking into their integrity and reliability in light of who they were working for and what they had been sent out to accomplish…hard to resolve that with a Biden administration’s policies if those past activities included things like family separation, dismantling government agencies, weakening foreign policy, rescinding health, environmental and safety regulations, abolishing minority rights and protections, etc…
