So, yesterday, there were two mass shooting incidents that played out.

One in Seattle. The other in Canada.

Both ended with the suspect taken into custody.

In Seattle, the gunman shot up a college campus, and was tackled as he was reloading his shotgun by an unarmed student, who then got assists from other students and they held the shooter until cops took control. But all that happened after the shooter killed one and injured 3 others.

The suspect was identified by a law-enforcement source as Aaron Ybarra, 26, of Mountlake Terrace.

Police on Thursday night were questioning the suspect. He was booked into the King County Jail for investigation of murder, police said.

No motive was immediately given for the shooting. The suspect carried extra shotgun shells, and also a knife, police said.

“He was hellbent on a killing a lot of people today,” said a second law-enforcement source briefed on the investigation.

Jon Meis, a student working as a building monitor, pepper-sprayed the shooter as he stopped to reload, then put him in a chokehold and took him to the ground, according to police and a friend who spoke with Meis after the shooting. Then other students and faculty members rushed to hold the shooter down until police arrived.

But until it was clear that only one shooter was responsible, students barricaded themselves, pulled blinds and waited for word that they were safe. Medics were forced to wait outside until police were sure there was no more danger.

In Canada, three RCMPs were killed and two others injured by a guy toting multiple rifles and guns.

Mr. Bourque, 24, was wanted in connection with the shooting deaths of three RCMP officers Wednesday night.

The victims have been identified as Constables David Ross, 32, Fabrice Georges Gevaudan, 45, and Douglas James Larche, 40.

The two wounded officers were identified as Constable Darlene Gaudin and Constable ric Dubois. Both are recovering well, according to Assistant Commissioner Roger Brown, the commanding officer for the RCMP in New Brunswick.

The shooter in Canada was running around with all those firearms, and it would have been impossible to tell his intentions were any different from those OCT nutters who think everyone should run around with all kinds of guns.

As Jon Stewart notes, the NRA/OCT nuts think that we should not only have open carry, but stand your ground, which means that public spaces become free fire zones where the only winner is the gun/ammo manufacturers.
