That’s a fallacy. Any large enough group will have child molesters and maybe even a serial killer in it.

But to have a sub group within a larger group, that promotes certain views that doesn’t have a mainstream appeal can be cause for changing or detracting from the message of the larger group. If Tea Parties had an occasional Troofer with a sign but was outcast, this wouldn’t even be discussed. However this is not the case: kooks have promoted and been significant contributors to some Tea Party events. These kooks have the potential to taint other groups or events where there was no kooks at all.

To deny this is handing detractors the can of gas with which to pour over our grass roots.
