Our new policy is we only take cats that adopt us. Quite a few wonder through our property and end up living in the barn or down the old ground hog hole. They have a 3 part hazing: they survive the inevitable encounter with the large racoon that lives around us (only the smart ones avoid big coony!); our big gray cat that established this policy doesn’t kick it’s ass and run it off; they pass a health screening and get neutered. Otherwise, if I catch them, I cage them and take them to the kill cent.., er I mean ASAP.
