By the way - on the subject of the Koch brothers and Keystone XL… while it’s true that the Kochs will benefit from the pipeline, that’s because they’re invested in all kinds of industries that are connected to petroleum products. The fact that the Kochs will benefit is not, in itself, a good reason to oppose the project.

I’m pretty divided on it, myself. In many ways, this kind of project is an environmental disaster waiting to happen. But the economic benefits are also undeniable.

Glad I’m not the one who has to decide.

Just IMO, but the only way out of building that pipeline or something a lot like it was committing to alternative and nuclear energy quite some time ago. But the lack of perceived urgency and environmental concerns are holding those back even as oil does it global damage. Just look at the “Into Eternity” documentary for a glimpse.
