Someone being gay makes them feel icky (or it frightens them because it stirs up some latent things they’re unwilling to acknowledge). Period. If a person can be kind, generous, compassionate and respectful of gay people, in spite of prejudice and/or religious beliefs, that’s awesome. It doesn’t erase the prejudice, but it’s a step in the right direction. However, if it comes with condescension, or this “hate the sin, love the sinner” or “I’ll pray for you” horseshit, then yes, you’re a bigoted asshat who looks down their nose at someone you consider beneath you. True compassion and respect for others doesn’t have that baggage attached.
(also too, I just LOLd at Bob Cesca calling the idiots on fox and friends malignant couch tumors, bwahahahaha)
