I can tell you that the people I know up here in Canada are cancelling their plans to take vacations in the US. FL is a big destination point and they’re out and out cancelling. The border cf crossing was empty, people are not going to MI to shop anymore.

I tried to find tourism stats but the only site in could find was a . gov which at this point is useless. I’d bet tourism is going to die. They’re not enough US citizens to take up the slack.

What’s the current exchange rate for the Canadian dollar? Last year at this time it was $.71, and Myrtle Beach was bending over backward with specials and deals to keep up some of the Canadian traffic (March is the biggest month for Canadians to come here.) If the exchange rate is bad plus all this border bullshit, MB is going to get hit really hard. (But hey, our gov is now the UN ambassador, so I’m sure Nikki will take care of everything international.)
