Hollywood realizes there is a huge population of moviegoers and production companies in China willing to finance Hollywood movies if there’s a Chinese angle to the story or a Chinese actor in them. The stupendous success of Black Panther has probably opened up the African markets, too.

It makes no business sense to ignore entire demographic groups. Whites are not the only people with money.

You’ve never met “hollywood:” have you? Forget “white”, if there’s no “buzz” in LA, arguably NY, they won’t touch it, even if it’s big elsewhere in the nation. Europe might as well be the North Pole and Africa Mars. There are exceptions of course, but’s generally it’s a parochial cottage industry.
