Got a text indicating that PayPal had paid around $600 from my account to buy Bitcoin.

Of course, nothing showed up at PayPal and I know that I sure as hell wasn’t buying any crypto.

It was a pretty obvious scam. Seems like scammers are faking PayPal messages to commit fraud.

Time to close my PayPal account.

Well if that’s the case it is time to close all of your bank accounts, your online shopping accounts, any accounts you may have with federal government agencies etc. etc. because scammers will literally using anything as a lure to get you to click their link. It’s hardly PayPal’s fault. I can’t tell you how many texts I’ve gotten about my Bank of America account…only problem is I don’t have an account with Bank of America.
