In Indiana you can register as R/D/or I. When you go to vote in the primary you have to declare either R or D. If you declare as an independent then you get a ballot without the major seats and you get one with things like the school board. I get inundated every election cycle with candidates or their reps showing up on my door. I wonder if I would get fewer visits if I were registered as an R or D?
Why would they take away choices of major candidates to vote for if you register as an Independent?
