Facts don’t matter on issues where people have a significant emotional investment.

You might be surprised how many people are emotionally attached to a position they hold out of complete ignorance. The conditions are ripe here at LGF for reaching some of them. Charles is such a reasonable person, they start to trust his impression of things, then something comes up where they disagree, and they reassess the matter, and open their eyes to other information.
