I agree with that, and that was a failure of a lot of Democrats (none here). ALL Democrats need to show up to vote all the freakin’ time.

But that’s not the same thing as saying that we didn’t try to address the concerns of conservatives. As for calling them hicks, after seeing the farmersonly.com ads, I’m not going to get all bent out of shape trying to apologize for people that aren’t me. And the one thing I will not try to make them feel better on is this: I will not apologize for thinking minorities need to be treated as equals. I will explain as nicely as I can why they bigotry is hurting them, but I’m not going to give into the idea that more time needs to be given for them to come around.
