I remember when they bragged about Mia Long. And it was like really, it took y’all to 2012 to elect your first African-American woman and you seriously want to play the stupid semantic games about the parties and civil rights. I mean I’ll be the first to give the GOP pre Southern Strategy credit though it’s more complicated than that- read about the Great Flood of 1928 and Hoover’s weak response to it. One of the better Republicans on Civil Rights funnily enough may have been Harding. He was a crook otherwise or at the very least crook adjacent.

You mean Mia Love, the flash-in-the-pan Congress critter from Utah that fell out of favor the moment she lost her reelection bid and then was effectively excommunicated the moment she had the audacity, the sheer cheek to suggest that Trump’s popularity black hole cost her said bid.
