Since lawhawk is hanging ‘round these parts, maybe he can answer the question I’ve been pondering:

If the president and VP both get tossed out of office, does the then-current Speaker fill the full remainder of the term? Or is it that the duties of the presidency go to whoever’s in the speaker’s chair?

Which is to say… if Cheeto REALLY fucks up in the next few weeks in a way that would also take Pence with him, is there any incentive for Republicans to get him gone before 1/3/19 so they can install Ryan instead of putting Pelosi in the big chair?
