If Medicare works so well then why do we need health care reform?

If welfare was fixed why do we still have people on welfare?

Medicare works fine. You have to be retired (or disabled?) to get it.

I’m sorry if my liberal-ness is showing, but I believe in helping people out when they need it. And you never know when you’ll need it. Money is fleeting, particularly in the last few years, for many Americans. Is the system perfect? Far from it, but The Welfare Reform Act went far to fix a lot of problems.
