I’m going to have to put my anger over the direction my country is headed on the back burner in order to move other matters to the front.

My great-aunt’s doctor decided that she probably needed blood thinners, in addition to the daily aspirin that he had previously recommended. Evidently they need to work on the proper doseage, because my brother discovered her collapsed on her bedroom floor; when he got life-flight there they stabilized her and got her to a hospital. She had severe internal bleeding.

They got her stabilized and all, but as she told me late last night, “I think I was doing better last year before I started taking any pills.” So, when the sun comes up, I’m headed down south to visit her.
