A lot of those people were given the choice of getting shot or drinking poison.

And quite a few were kids and elderly people too debilitated to leave.

And the entire suicide scenario occurred after they’d all been terrorized for months with the “White Night” loyalty tests that involved drinking “poison” while exhausted, malnourished, and sleep deprived, *and* everyone was convinced they’d all be killed because of the assassination of Congressman Ryan.

I ain’t mad, but…it’s bad mojo conjuring with Jonestown. The apocryphal “they all just obeyed” story is comforting pap compared to what happened, and our current scenario has a bunch of disturbing resemblances to the actual Jonestown mass murder/mass suicide. If shit goes wrong, it’s not going to be the loyal soldiers jumping on swords; this is a pyramid scheme of narcissists, and narcissists tend to try and punish and annihilate anyone that made them feel shamed or disappointed.
