it’s not merely that in the first instance no one was hurt and in the second Americans are getting sick.

the first sentence basically says, as long as trump can manipulate the truth and bury reality then this tactic is ok

when proof of reality slaps us in the face, then it’s not so hot

well subpoenas, witnesses, documents etc would have laid bare the lie we all know he and the admin has told re Ukraine

The only reason Trump gives a damn about the pandemic at this point is because efforts to ignore it have led the markets to shit the bed. If the markets were still humming along and hitting daily milestones, he wouldn’t have even bothered with appointing a “committee” to address it. Hell, he probably would have just started firing anybody who spoke of it publicly, as is his track record when they try to force him to deal with things he wants to simply ignore.
