So, someone educate me then as to how voting against raising the debt ceiling by Republicans/Democrats/whoever today is worse than those that voted against raising the debt ceiling when Bush was in the WH.

The end result is both cases is the same, yes?

It passed under Bush. Those that vote against it know they have the luxury to. In this case they voted en mass against it.
