The answer to that is training. And even if the shooter focuses on you, that give you a better chance to drop him. And should worse come to worse, even if you die it still gives others a chance to escape.
An honorable man carries arms to defend himself and others, not to kill. Killing the aggressor may happen, but that isn’t the goal.
How much training do most states require for open or concealed carry?
And I am afraid that a lot of these people who feel the need to arm themselves in public are doing it for motivations other than honor.
