At SFO they use beagles. Very good dogs for that kind of work. Great noses, and they aren’t so intimidating as bigger breeds.

Hope they are smarter than Italian security dogs.
Went to Italy once to see hubby’s family. He left his suitcase out for a week before we left and the cats were in it constantly. The dogs locked on that suitcase like glue and the security people emptied everything single thing out.

Lesson learned:
Keep the cats out of the suitcases!
