The local Domestic Violence shelter and Sexual Assault center for which I volunteer depends on their partnership with the United Way. As does Planned Parenthood.

GOP in Illinois (now with their governor) is proposed cutting even more funding for VAWA related agencies.

I’m looking at some charity ratings websites right now. It actually seems that UW isn’t all that bad after all. Still prefer to give directly though.
