I just wish there weren’t so many shelters around that still wind up putting animals down when they don’t get adopted.

It’s sad, and it’s always the adult animals that get it, not the kittens or puppies (because they get adopted) and some of the most loving cats and dogs I’ve known were adults from shelters.

The last adult cat I adopted was from a kill shelter, and his family had left him when they moved. They had kids too, but supposedly their new space wouldn’t let them have a pet.
He was the sweetest and most gentle cat you could imagine, really great with kids.

Yeah, I know. It hurts but unfortunately so many people just think their kitty or doggie will be okay and they just leave it. If they only knew what was going to happen to their pet when they abandon it maybe there would be less abandon animals in shelters. People can be so stupid sometimes.
