Tax evasion is a lot different than the wealthy (or anyone else) not paying their fair share
There’s a difference between tax avoidance and tax evasion. The former is a legal way to do so using all available tax credits, exemptions, deductions to the maximum permitted by law. Evasion is the failure to report/pay tax due.
Many countries have problems with both - and the more complex the tax code, the more revenues are lost to evasion or avoidance - even if it’s accidental because no one can quite figure out the proper tax due.
