Maybe it’s because of how this stuff spreads more in an era of rapid mass communication and social media but I don’t remember anti-vaxx paranoia when I was a kid in the 90’s. The consenus seemed to be yeah vaccines? They fucking work. So much progress gets impended when we forget why that progress needed to happen in the first place.

It’s been around since the first vaccine for smallpox.

The difference is today we have the Internet, whereas in the past it was Mimeograph machines or printing presses.
