re: #483 HappyWarrior

I don’t do a lot of political discussion especially on friends political pages because of that. One of my friends had a FB friend, someone she wasn’t even that close with that always had obnoxious political opinions. I get the idea of engaging those you disagree with but when someone pushes obvious bullshit, it’s a lot easier said than done. It’s why I choose not to engage with a good friend of my own who spews wingnut bullshit.

My friend voted Trump and she had a post about how it was “fake news” that the civil rights, LGBT and healthcare pages were removed from the White House site because the Obama pages were just being archived and Trump would have his own pages for those subjects soon.

I posted a single response: “Doesn’t matter what the excuse is. Trump’s going to be a disaster anyway.” and then it all started downhill from there. Random people on her list — all white men, BTW — started ranting at me calling me Chicken Little and telling me that I’ve just been misled by the media to be afraid of the world of shit Trump’s about to rain down on people.

I’m tired of Trump voters trying to gaslight me and get me to try and pretend that we’re not in a world of shit right now with that sleaze in office.
