Well, again, it is possible that Jesus existed and yet never pronounced anything in the sermon on the mount, which was created from scratch by Mark (note: I’m just being hypothetical here). It doesn’t mean that the author of the sermon is automatically Jesus, since there would be 2 Jesuses now.

what is the point of postulating a jesus who is not the person who speaks in the gospels?
