Ever notice that if you stack up wingnut’s understanding of sexual assault, homosexuality, and women’s sexuality in general, the unifying theme is a lack of understanding of consent?

I think about this every time they trot out the bestiality canard, because it seems like we’re getting a brief glimpse into some unstated assumptions about sex.

Remember that this comes from the subculture where women are guilt-tripped into being completely subservient to their husbands’ sexual impulses. The idea of “consent” doesn’t enter into the vocabulary - women are told to let the man take them whenever, wherever, or they are committing a sin by denying their marital rights.
