Only people who don’t need to run advertisements are calling for everybody to use HTTPS by default. Most ads still won’t work with SSL pages.

Of course that doesn’t apply to political sites, but I find it a little irritating that Soghoian never seems to mention that inconvenient objection to his hobby horse.

I think the concern here was that Rand Paul’s donation request page was originally not using a secure connection for financial transactions.
