A great many stories of destruction coming out of south Florida tonight.
As was feared, Ft. Meyers and Cape Coral are hard hit.
It’s not the right time to be judgmental, yet I noticed this person picked up on a topic about which I ranted less than two days ago:

We as a society simply want to pretend that we can get away with whatever we wish. While years ago the developers may have argued that hurricanes were unlikely to destroy the city, we now know that rising sea levels will doom those kind of projects.
Floridians already pay very high premiums to cover their housing. And insurance will keep going up. And up and up.
